Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember certain information about your visit, such as your preferences or whether you are signed in.

PlanCheck uses a small number of cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites.

Necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as signing in to your dashboard.

Functional cookies

If you reach PlanCheck through a link shared by one of our affiliate partners, we set a cookie to remember which partner referred you, so any resulting sign up can be attributed to them correctly. This cookie does not track you across other websites.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use PlanCheck, such as which pages are viewed and how people move through the site, so we can improve it. Analytics cookies are switched off by default and are only set if you agree through the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the button on the left of this page. If you do not agree, no analytics cookies are set.

Marketing cookies

PlanCheck does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites for marketing purposes.

Third party cookies

Some features of PlanCheck involve third party services that may set their own cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile, which we use to prevent spam and automated abuse, may set a cookie as part of its bot detection process. This is a necessary cookie and does not track you for advertising purposes. Google Analytics sets the analytics cookies described above, but only after you have agreed to analytics cookies through the cookie banner.

Information stored in your browser

As well as cookies, PlanCheck stores a small amount of information directly in your browser using local storage. We use this to remember your cookie choice and to remember when you have used a free feature, such as the public planning map search. This information stays on your device, is not shared with advertisers, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the button on the left side of this page. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling necessary cookies may affect how the site works, including your ability to stay signed in.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and PECR you have the right to withdraw consent to non-essential cookies at any time. You can do this using the button on the left of this page, or through your browser settings. Withdrawing consent stops further analytics cookies being set, but does not affect any processing already carried out while your consent was in place.

Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time, particularly if we introduce new features or third party services. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
